Dr. Alison Ahn, M.A., MDiv, Psy.D. (PSY 33352)

Dr. Alison Ahn enjoys listening to every client’s unique story and takes time to get to know each client with genuine concern. Dr. Ahn’s strength is her ability to provide emotional safety and comfort to her clients, offering full acceptance with empathy. Dr. Ahn enjoys making meaningful connections where each client feels seen and heard. She also builds trustworthy relationships with her clients from all walks of life and various backgrounds.

Dr. Ahn has experience working with clients with complex trauma or PTSD with basic EMDR training. She also has experience working with individual adults, college students, couples, and teenagers including court-ordered group therapy. She provides intervention and treatment related to depression, anxiety, substance abuse, addiction, grief/loss, transition in life, career, family and/or parenting issues, and marital problems. Therapy in Korean is also offered to Korean speaking clients.

Dr. Ahn received her Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Masters degree in Education with Intercultural Studies from Biola University, Masters of Divinity degree in Pastoral Counseling, and Bachelors in Biology from U.C. Irvine. Dr. Ahn has extensive teaching experience as a middle school Math teacher, English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher, and high school international program curriculum designer and teacher trainer.

Dr. Ahn’s research interests include Resilience, Process of Individuation, Differentiation of Self, Jungian Dream Interpretation, Mindfulness, Meditation, Journaling, and Art Therapy.
