Dr. Alison Ahn, M.A., MDiv, Psy.D.


Dr. Alison Ahn enjoys listening to every client’s unique story and takes time to get to know each client with genuine concern.  Dr. Ahn’s strength is her ability to provide emotional safety and comfort to her clients, offering full acceptance with empathy.  Dr. Ahn enjoys making meaningful connections where each client feels seen and heard.  She also builds trustworthy relationships with her clients from all walks of life and various backgrounds.

Dr. Ahn has experience working with clients with complex trauma or PTSD with basic EMDR training.  She also has experience working with individual adults, college students, couples, and teenagers including court-ordered group therapy.  She provides intervention and treatment related to depression, anxiety, substance abuse, addiction, grief/loss, transition in life, career, family and/or parenting issues, and marital problems.  Therapy in Korean is also offered to Korean speaking clients.

Dr. Ahn received her Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Masters degree in Education with Intercultural Studies from Biola University, Masters of Divinity degree in Pastoral Counseling, and Bachelors in Biology from U.C. Irvine. Dr. Ahn has extensive teaching experience as a middle school Math teacher, English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher, and high school international program curriculum designer and teacher trainer.

Dr. Ahn’s research interests include Resilience, Process of Individuation, Differentiation of Self, Jungian Dream Interpretation, Mindfulness, Meditation, Journaling, and Art Therapy.

Ms. Sharon Hou, MA, MDiv, AMFT


Sharon was born and raised in Taiwan and immigrated with her family to the United States as a teenager.  Sharon earned her M.A. in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University.  Prior to her professional training in psychology, she earned a Theology degree from Logos Seminary in El Monte, CA.  For her undergraduate studies, she attended University of California, Irvine, where she also earned a secondary school teaching credential following her bachelor’s degree.

As a 1.5-generation Asian American, she is fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese. Her bi-cultural upbringing enables her to have exceptional insights into individuals and families dealing with unique challenges stemming from their multi-cultural and intergenerational backgrounds.  Moreover, Sharon has extensive experiences in teaching, psychotherapy, couples & family counseling.  Sharon also specializes in treating depression, anxiety, traumas and grief issues, including miscarriages, abortion and infertility.  Finally, Sharon is able to provide spiritual direction to help people find reconciliation in their spiritual struggles.
