Dr. Riichiro Miwa is a 20-year-experienced and still enthusiastic psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, life-coach, adjunct faculty member, and author.

He works extensively in the education and training of graduate and post-graduate students who are studying clinical psychology, psychotherapy, and marriage and family counseling.

In his own professional practice as a psychologist, Dr. Miwa cares for a full range of clients, including: highly-motivated individuals seeking life-coaching, individuals struggling with difficulties, such as depression and anxiety, couples who are seeking relationship counseling, individuals struggling with sexual and gender identity actualization, and all the way through to patients with severe and chronic clinical conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and chemical addiction.

His wide-ranging professional and personal experience, as well as cultural background and personal philosophy gained in both the USA and Japan means Dr. Miwa offers his services in a manner that is sensitive to your uniqueness, culture, and diversity. His focus is on the individual client, whom he helps to find what is best for them by using realistic and reasonable interventions. He takes a holistic, integrated approach which is tailored to each individual’s circumstances.

Note: Sessions are primarily conducted online using Telehealth. Upon request your therapist may agree to in-person sessions. Please note that an additional room charge will be added to your fee for in-person sessions.
